Denmark Presbyterian Church
There are many restoration projects the BBCHA will be doing. The most important one at this time is the renovation of the Denmark Presbyterian Church. The church was built in 1854 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. From the pictures below, you can see the structural damage that is happening to the church.

The building is deteriorating everyday as shown from the pictures above made a month apart. If work is not started immediately, the bulding will not be standing in 18 months and will never make the winter. The northwest corner, now separated over 12 inches, is going to let the second floor come down. To do the minimum to save this building and to prepare it to withstand the winter, seals need to be replaced, windows need to be installed and the west wall needs to be stablized. Estimates to have this work down, material and labor, is projected to be $15,000.
As work has progressed, the craftsmanship of the church construction has amazed historians -- from lumber lifted more than 40 feet for rafters to a Masonic chamber and inscriptions of captured Civil War Soldiers.
Anyone wanting more information or wanting to help in the restoration should contact Association President Billy King at bking49166@aol.com. If you would like to make a financial contribution toward this restoration, please make your check payable to BBCHA, earmark it for the Denmark Presbyterian Church Renovation, and send it to P. O. Box 50, Denmark, TN 38391.

Booker Knob School
The Booker Knob School, built around 1850, is in great need of repair as you can see from the pictures. The BBCHA has the restoration of the school as its next project.
The school is located on the Denmark/ Leighton Road, near Leighton. This school was a subscription school, as Madison County did not have public schools at the time.
Anyone wanting more information or wanting to help in the restoration should contact Association President Billy King at bking49166@aol.com. If you would like to make a financial contribution toward this restoration, please make your check payable to BBCHA, earmark it for the Booker Knob School and send it to P. O. Box 50, Denmark, TN 38391.
