COMMUNITIES

The communities that comprise the Big Black Creek Historical Association are Denmark, Leighton, Mercer in Western Madison County, and Woodland that is located in Western Madison County and Eastern Haywood County.   Each community has its own history and heritage, but they are tied together because of their proximity to each other and families who moved from place to place.
